Reiki Level 1 Training is designed for those interested in becoming Reiki Level 1 Practitioners. Reiki may improve overall health by helping maintain a state of physical and emotional balance with participants learning to use Reiki as a technique for relaxation, stress reduction and pain management. Workshop participants will receive attunement to use Reiki as a form of self-care for themselves and family members.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient Japanese hands on (or close to) healing practice where the Reiki Practitioner encourages the flow of energy through her hands to the receiver/client. The Japanese word "Reiki" is composed of two words: "Rei" can be interpreted as "higher/universal intelligence" and 'Ki" meaning "life force energy". Reiki helps to restore balance to the body by clearing blocked energy and balancing energy centers in the body. Reiki often provides deep relaxation and a feeling of well-being. It works not only on the physical level of functioning, but on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels as well. Reiki can be beneficial for those who experience pain, anxiety, emotional stress, sleeplessness, chronic illness, pre and post surgery, head injury, and for end of life care. Reiki is used at hundreds of hospitals around the U.S.

During the class, Lupita will provide the history and theory of Reiki, energy healing fundamentals, chakras overview, proper hand positioning, and contraindications and indications. Students will be attuned to Reiki I and will immediately be able to encourage the flow of universal life force energy. Students will learn how to administer a self healing session and a healing session for others through demonstrations and actual practice. Participants will receive an Usui Level I Reiki Practitioner Certificate upon workshop completion.

What should I bring?

Participants are welcome to bring lunch and their favorite notebook to take notes in. Beverages and light snacks will be served.
